It becomes clear that Lily and David's marriage is, in fact, a pretense to conceal David's sexual orientation from their families. Despite Jenny's protest and urge to expose the truth, David and Lily stand their ground and highlight the complexity of their relationships and choices. Confronted by the strength of their decisions, Jenny finally respects their choices and wishes and decides to keep their secret.
