Everybody on Earth's got one. A "shadow" sort. They follow you around, gently leading you on the right path, and you don't even know it. Like a silent partner, they watch out for you. Criminals aren't susceptible to their guidance in the same way and react oppositely, violently. To everyone else, they are a savior. They're basically the invisible Robin to your Batman. It just wouldn't be the same without them. So, you go about life, blissfully unaware of their presence. But what if someone can see theirs? Well, the powers that be would NOT be happy about that.
