However, she lost touch with Kate, and Paige eventually moved to Connecticut. Adding to her challenges, her father passed away. Currently, Nailea faces the difficult situation of leaving her home due to her stepmother's disapproval of her sexuality. She relocates to Iowa, where her only other family member, Aunt Lisa, resides. Aunt Lisa is the women's basketball coach at Iowa. Nailea makes the move with her older brother and his wife. She worries about leaving behind her girlfriend, Caroline, and her best friend, Paige, and wonders if her relationship with Caroline will withstand the distance. Besides, she is concerned about mending her relationship with her stepmother.
