SmokeAndStarlight
Black. White. And all the shades of gray between. Some say that there are more shades of gray that one can see. Limitless, they say. I didn't believe them. I thought they were just talking about baseless theories. But now I know the truth. Now I know I was wrong. So wrong. My hands are covered in colors. Colors that fascinate me, colors that I can't name. Colors so bright and so not gray. Colors that just made me one of the most wanted criminals on the planet.
Alexia Evelyn Star. Normal. Black hair. Black eyes. Pale skin. Everything else gray. That's only how she had ever known life to be. That was until the mysterious Ryker Emilio Daniels came along, bleeding rainbow. Red thinks he not the only Iridescent between the two. He recogonizes the colors swirling in her eyes, sees her hair reflecting spectrum. Alexia, an Iridescent like him, can separate components of white light and wield it. Red fascinates her but when he asks her to join him and his gang of other Iridescents, she refuses. Give up her entire life for a guy she barely knows and trust him as he plunges her into a world unkown and dangerous? No, thank you, but last time Alex checked, she wasn't a fool. But Alex has no other choice but to accept Red's proposal when she exposes herself by mistake. Now running from a group of assassins of the government called the Shadows, they must find the Code of Iridescence before they are hunted to extinction.
Set in a dystopian universe, this story is heavily inspired from Coldplay's music video for Hurts Like Heaven.
