Book 3 in the Blind Love series. Uncovering the mysteries of the past

This is a micro-story I wrote at University for a small competition. I never submitted it, but I thought while I'm making some posts I might as well dump a few things here. The setting is a Broch - a sort of Iron Age fortification found in Scotland. The idea I had in mind, the concept, was that it was a found manuscript fragment from the Roman Invasion of Caledonia, or a later Early Mediaeval Epic which made that time period its topic, and this was the only remaining part.

Andy is a B class journalist who was invited by his Alma Mater to be part of a team that will visit a rural ethnic group of people to see their preserve tradition and culture. He went to the place alone and just followed a sign board saying short cut ends him in a nest full of huge eggs.

There, upon the cold earth and in the brush of the forest the raven became something else. The Valravn, a supernatural creature: a raven with the form of a man, known only to bring unto Midgard a plague of chaos and illusion. He has his talons dug so tightly into the clan under the rule of Ragnar, son of Helge, that ties will begin to unravel and fray. The bonds that hold the Danes together may sever or hold, but the more they listen for the Valravn's song the closer to darkness they tread.

In a small village tucked between its fortifications and a cliffs edge, a small girl runs to her father the Brenin (King) of the Eastern Helfenaidd a race of Magical beings with control over the four classical Elements. They are celebrating a truce with their rivals The Hebmarw, powerful creatures with an ambitious Chief. However, the celebration ends early.

A relatively large tribe north of the mysterious river Thames seems to be thriving under the leadership of their druids and the chief. After news of a far off superpower threatening their lands are they ready to possibly sacrifice their young warriors for freedom?

A dying stranger arrives on the outskirts of a peaceful village with two concerns before he dies. One is the passing of his spirit being to the otherworld the other is the delivery of a powerful magikal circlet to the mage of a distant tribe. Once the stranger is found Sothoo and Raru'iti are tasked with sending his bones back to his tribe and the circlet to the shaman of the tribe of the Broken Axe. Can Sothoo and Raru'iti put aside their differences and overcome all the obstacles thrown in front of them and complete their task?
