Ryland let out a breathless, watery sound, halfway between a laugh and a sob. "I'll take that as a compliment." ---- A continuation of the story after the events of Project Hail Mary and Iron lung. I try to be as story (and fact) accurate as I can be for the nerds out there. I see you, you're welcomed here (and everybody else). I heavily rely on PHM book with some details from the movie. TL;DR Grace is panicking because Simon is hot, but make it slow burn and cosmic horror. :D My art!

Grace woke up with a gasp, eyes flying open as he gripped the sheets tightly. He was drenched in cold sweat. His hair stuck to his forehead, and his shirt had an obvious wet spot. His heart was beating ferociously and his chest heaved with every breath he was greedily taking. And he could never take a satisfying breath, as a tight squeeze in his chest prevented him from doing so. He had a nightmare.

It's been a lot of time since Grace stayed on Erid, and he got used to living there. And being only human on that planet. But Rocky was sent on a new mission, and Grace joined his friend to shock to find another human being.

Ironmary. Takes place years after grace and Simon start living on Erid. It switches perspectives between The characters. Ryland is older than Simon by a few years
