Luna, however, was too frail and weak, not to mention young, to be of any use to them at all. She was near constantly sick in her early years, and didn't improve much as time went on. For all intents and purposes, she was a useless mouth to feed, and yet her family never once complained or shunned her. In fact, they adored her beyond belief, she was their angel in a darkened world. At least, that's what most of them thought. That's why they had to leave her behind, because if she had come to the surface with them, she'd have no hope of survival. In the end though, she was a girl who would never back down from a challenge, and finding her family years later was no exception.
