In Bronze Age Scotland, Aati of the Damnonii, seer-in-training for her clan, experiences disturbing visions. Invaders are coming to the land of Alba and her peaceful tribe must find a way to meet this challenge to their survival. Ancient magic or bloodshed: the clan's choices are few. New alliances must be forged if Alba's tribes are to retain their lives - and their freedom. Alliances require compromise. But Aati's choices may mean the difference between survival and annihilation at the point of an invader's sword.
