Megumi has a nightmare about losing Yuji once again, he feels the need to protect him.

Itadori Yuuji is a famous actor, starring alongside his longtime friend, Ozawa Yuko, in a coming-of-age, high school drama, Lonely Without You. Fans speculate, of course, but that does nothing to deter their friendship, and, hey, free promo is free promo. So, when Yuuji's agent introduces them to a band, Resonance, intent on a joint promotional project for band's upcoming album, Yuuji is sure this is just another opportunity to network and get more people talking about the film. That is, until he meets Fushiguro Megumi. Fame, a fake relationship, and a whole lot of external social pressure. One fifteen-minute conversation was all it took to change Itadori Yuuji's life.

Fushiguro Megumi is a hard news journalist for a fairly successful newspaper in Toshima City, one of the central wards in Tokyo. He specializes in writing news for crime and politics. Crime and politics. So, when his Editor-In-Chief, Gojo Satoru, decides to put him on a sports feature, highlighting some famous boxer known as Itadori Yuuji, Megumi can't help but consider quitting right then and there. Seriously, what kind of story could come from that?

Yuuji, Megumi, and Nobara are online friends. While Megumi and Nobara know each other IRL, all they know about Yuuji is that he's an energetic teammate who goes by the username punchingtiger320, and all Yuuji knows is that his two friends are friends in real life and they all make a great team together. Sure, maybe Megumi has a thing for his long distance friend, but it's not like it would ever go anywhere. Yuuji didn't think it was that hot outside for him to be this red, but Fushiguro was the one to exorcize the curse so it made sense that he was more worked up. The dog is running to the road, Megumi is several meters behind it, sure that he's never going to reach it in time, but, by God, he will try, and then something else happens. There's a flash of... beige? moving faster than anything Megumi has ever seen before. Faster than any person he's ever seen move. Fushiguro stood before an overly decorated cake and every single student and staff member from the school beaming at him. This was to be expected, another year of Gojo smiling down at him with a camera in his face while everyone Fushiguro ever knew standing around him. Itadori was standing at his side, flush against his shoulders, smiling as if he were the entire world. It made him blush, standing under that gaze, wondering if there were ever a time where he wasn't so far gone for the boy next to him. Overall, it was a nice party. Itadori stood confused for a moment, trying to figure out what kind of surprise was planned that needed to happen in his dorm room. Not to mention, it wasn't very clean. It wasn't dirty or anything, just a little bit messy-some discarded clothes, a couple of water bottles. Itadori hadn't really planned on having anyone over. "Why is it not in your room?" he asked. Fushiguro thought about his answer for a moment before he said, "I just think it would be more special that way." Itadori blushed, causing a small smirk to appear on the other boy's face. Itadori did it. He somehow managed to get his best friend and long-time crush, Fushiguro Megumi, to fall in love with him. It wasn't easy, there were a lot of days of pining and misunderstandings and failures (embarrassing failures). Now he's faced with a new challenge: A perfect first date. __ The date he planned was simple, not too elaborate because that wasn't really Fushiguro's cup of tea. They would go to a café in the early afternoon, then walk around the city (maybe even at a park? Itadori would love to see Divine Dog again) before ending the date and getting an early dinner at a nice restaurant. A lovely, cute, simple date to start as the first chapter in their relationship.
