1918 - A time of rising conflicts between countries, which would eventually lead to you having to live through one the deadliest wars in all history.
(For this story, just imagine women were allowed to be soldiers, it was very rare but a few women who were HEAVILY trained could fight on the front line.)
You come from a prestigious family of amazing, admirable British soldiers who have fought in every single war for hundreds of years. You have no siblings, so now you have to honour your family name and fight on the front line. You can't disappoint them. You can't disappoint yourself either.
You and Jeongin are polar opposites.
Jeongin has always fought his way out of things, this was a response to his rough upbringing - fighting has always been the only way anyone will listen to him. At the start of the war, he started to grow poor. He could barely get by as it was, but now war had commenced prices were rapidly rising (due to trade issues that this war caused.) Perhaps he would sign up. Perhaps he could convince his family that he was strong. He could get some quick money, and give some to his mother and father so they could feed his siblings. He could endure great pain; he had endured this all his life. Right? Jeongin was enlisted in the army. He was now a German soldier.
You were foes. Foes because the government said so. Maybe in another universe, you wouldn't have to shoot him. Something stops you, maybe it was those caramel melty eyes, or the transparent tears racing down his cheeks, pleading for forgiveness. He was just like any other German boy. We were taught that Germans were evil and unforgiving. But it was something about him. The electric connection between us that i felt pulse through my body as soon as I saw him.
"Don't tell a single soul." You utter. But will you be able to keep that secret? Someone has to find out eventually. Right?
