This is a post-canon continuation fic eight-year time skip story that begins the moment Deku learns the truth, and realizes the last eight years were never empty at all. They were full of someone else's quiet devotion, carried silently, deliberately, without expectation of recognition. Bakugo and Izuku have always been part of each other's lives, but adulthood, trauma, and time have changed the way they orbit. The story focuses on reconnection into slice of life. A few notes going in: - This fic is written in alternating first-person POV (Bakugo / Deku). Each chapter stays fully inside one character's head. - Slow, emotional, and character-driven. Lots of internal monologue, dialogue, memory, and quiet moments. - PTSD, survivor's guilt, and war aftermath are explored gradually and honestly, including therapy later on. - Romance is intentional, soft, and earned. Izuku Midoryia was never considered strong or a likely canidate to beome a hero. Afterall, the only thing his quirk could do was blow over unsecured trashcans or ruffle someone's hair. He acts like he's always cheerful, shy, and like nothing bothers him but actually he's super sensitive and a big softy. He acts happy. Todoroki was abused by his father and his mother poured boiling water on his eye. His father abused him because he wanted shoto to be the next big tv star.. shoto turned into a self reserved, (seemingly) mean, ass hole who doesn't care about anything. When in reality, he's a romantic person who gets over protective of the people he likes. what happens when these two meet? what happens when deku reunites with his big time bully? what happens when they find out about each others pasts? Parenting isn't easy, that is no secret. Some people can't even communicate with a child. One of those people was Shouta Aizawa. He was a type of person that would rather stop drinking coffee that be in a ten foot radius of a crying five year old. His husband was a complete opposite, Hizashi loved children. So when he heard from Nezu that some of the staff have to foster care a kid for training, he was overjoyed. Aizawa on the other hand was not so happy. Taking care of a child meant more work and less sleep, but of course he didn't get a say in this. The only thing good about it was that he could choose the kid. Izuku Midoriya a fourteen year old boy, that lost his mother in a terrible accident. Being quirkless didn't help in that situation because not only did his father didn't want him. He was treated like garbage in the orphanage. Izuku was the oldest kid at the place so he was in charge of all the chores and work. Not that he minded tho it was the only way to get food. If Izuku got lucky he would sneak out to library and study. After some sessions of going out he was able to learn sign language, Morse code and other pretty hard subject in science, math and biology. His love for analyzing started after he saw eraser head fight a villain. Izuku was calm and quiet. What will happen if Aizawa chooses Izuku as the kid to take care of? What will Izuku say? This story goes through Izukus mind. These are the long lasting side effects of him being bullied and outcasted during school before UA and how mistreated he was and how much everyone doubt him. He thought he had finally gotten rid of it but slowly is starting to faze back into to the dark that he once so desperately tried to get rid of. I hope you enjoy this story!
