For fifteen years, Dr. Jack Abbot believed his daughter was safe hundreds of miles away. Then a seventeen-year-old hit-and-run victim is rushed into Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Emilia Abbot never planned on seeing her father again. She only came to the closest emergency room after being struck by a car. Neither of them expected the name on her chart to change everything. As years of silence, guilt, and unanswered questions come crashing into the middle of an already chaotic trauma shift, father and daughter are forced to confront a past neither of them can outrun. Can fifteen years apart be undone, or are some wounds too deep to heal?

Dr. Carter Shea looks like she has it all together-bright smile, sharp wit, and signature pink scrubs that earned her the nickname "Dr. Barbie" long before she ever stepped foot inside The Pitt. She's bubbly, compassionate, and somehow manages to bring warmth into even the darkest trauma cases. But behind the charm and perfectly glossed smile is a woman running from an abusive past that nearly destroyed her. Starting over at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital is supposed to be nothing more than a fresh start. Keep her head down. Work the shifts. Don't let anyone get too close. Then she meets Dr. Jack Abbot. Quietly protective and impossible to intimidate, Jack sees the cracks beneath Carter's carefully crafted sunshine. What starts as teasing banter during impossible shifts slowly becomes something deeper-late-night coffee runs, shared silence after brutal cases, and the terrifying realization that Carter feels safe with him in a way she never has before. But healing isn't linear, and the past Carter escaped refuses to stay buried. As the chaos of the ER pushes them together, Carter must learn that surviving isn't the same as living-and that maybe Trauma Barbie deserves her own happy ending too.

The Place Where People Break The emergency department had its own heartbeat. It wasn't the sound of the monitors. It wasn't the alarms. It wasn't the endless footsteps rushing across the polished floors. It was something else. Something only the people who worked there understood. The knowledge that at any moment, the doors could open and someone's entire life could change. For some people, the emergency department was terrifying. For others, it became home. Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center was both. A place where people arrived broken. And where everyone inside learned how to carry pieces of them back together. Dr. Jack Abbot had spent years learning one important lesson: You couldn't save everyone. No matter how hard you worked. No matter how many hours you stayed. No matter how much you cared. Someone would always remember the patients you lost more than the ones you saved. So Jack did what he was good at. He focused. He worked. He kept everyone at a distance. Because distance made things easier. At least, that was what he told himself. Until Elia Carter walked into The Pitt. Twenty-five years old. New nurse. Too compassionate. Too stubborn. Too willing to challenge him. She didn't know the rules yet. She didn't know that people like Jack weren't easy to understand. And Jack didn't know that the person who would challenge him the most wouldn't be another doctor. It would be a nurse who refused to look away. In a place where every second mattered... Sometimes the hardest thing to save was yourself.

Jack Abbot is not an overly-neighborly person. He has secret nicknames in his head for most of the people on his floor and actively avoids any and all types of neighborhood politics. However, he can't deny his growing fondness for the single mom and toddler in apartment seventeen. (Nor his burning hatred for your baby daddy).

Caroline Foster is an ER nurse at one of the top trauma centers in Pittsburgh, known for lighting up every room she walks into. But when she switches to the dark side for a shift, the softer glow of her daytime charm gives way to something quieter, more intriguing. And that's when she catches the attention of the ER's most notoriously grumpy doctor a man who's spent years keeping his distance from everyone. In the stillness between emergencies and under the hum of fluorescent lights, walls start to come down, and unexpected sparks begin to fly. Because sometimes, it's in the darkest hours that the brightest connections are made.

TO LIVE FOR THE HOPE OF IT ALL Dr. Alana Bennett has always been good at surviving. Surviving brutal shifts. Surviving impossible patients. Surviving the chaos of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Unfortunately, she has one problem she can't seem to survive: Dr. Jack Abbot. To everyone else, Jack is brilliant, disciplined, and nearly impossible to impress. To Alana, he's the attending who never seems to miss a mistake-and the man who has been watching her ever since she broke protocol to save a patient's life. He thinks she relies too much on instinct. She thinks he relies too much on rules. Neither of them is willing to back down. But when Alana's reputation as the ER's resident "black cloud" brings one catastrophe after another through the trauma bay, she finds herself working closer to Jack than ever before. And somewhere between the overnight shifts, impossible cases, whispered conversations in empty hallways, and moments neither of them is supposed to notice... The lines between professional tension and something much more dangerous begin to blur. Because sometimes the person you least expect becomes the one thing keeping you alive. Jack Abbot x Fem!OC

It was easy to let darkness creep in when working the night shift. Dr. Kate Monroe found that out pretty quickly. She also learned that despite the darkness, there's always light, no matter how dim. The Emergency Department at PTMC was no walk in the park by any means, but a certain doctor helped to make each day better. What Kate didn't know is she helped him find his way back to the light as well.

She lived for the thrill of procrastinating until the day an assignment was due, it was a drug to her. Meaning, it didn't surprise her parents or her uncle, Christopher Hart- the legendary surgeon- when she chose to pursue emergency medicine. The ER was the most chaotic, pressure-driven environment in the medical field. But it did surprise them when she told them she was moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After living in different places during her childhood and teen years, her parents finally landed in Chicago. She finished her medical school, with a minor in psychology, getting off debt free thanks to Chris, she started working in the heart of downtown. She started her residency, getting three years out of her hospital before she decided to leave. When she showed up to PTMC, she was finally a senior resident and the staff loved and respected her. But an arrogant, dark-haired doctor just loved getting under her skin. He'd cherry-pick his cases just so he could annoy her. And she hated it. Hated him. Hated his stupid, charming grin. Hated the ocean blue eyes that scrutinized her. Hated the (sadly) sharp jawline that flexed when she did something better than him. Everyone tried to ignore their bickering, but tensions rose to a new level when a new intern and medical students arrived. One with a very keen eye for inconsistencies. What happens when that one intern brings everything to light? Or in which The shift from hell shows the lies that they kept beneath the surface. the pitt s1-2 frank langdonxFEM!OC (all right for the pitt go to the directors and writers.) slow updates

Jack Abbot is not who he seems. Yeah, he might be an amazing attending who has gone to "war" with a great sense of humor and a happy childhood but maybe that might not all be true. Maybe he had a past that no one knew about, and skills that he never used, or scars that are hard to explain. BTW: I haven't finished the show yet and just started Season 5 so no spoilers please. The only spoilers that might appear in this story are ones that include jobs they did, injuries they obtained, and some losses that occured.
