19 year-old Brooklyn Jones had always achieved everything she's gone for. Through the hardest of competitions and the simplest of practices, Brook had worked harder than anyone to be the best that she could be. With an easy-going life, Brook had always found it easy to pursue the thing she loved most: skating. However, when a tragic accident struck the Jones' family, everything changed. Brook found herself adjusting to the new lifestyle and the new personalities around her. As her once structured life became messier and messier, Brook tried to find a way to get it under control. With her mom getting worse by the day and her brother starting his own life, Brook was blindly falling into a hole of hopelessness. One day, when an email sneaks its way into Brook's inbox, it leaves her weighing her options and forces her to make the second hardest decision in her life. In the end, she knew she had to find a way to get out of the hole she was sinking in and this was it. She had to take that next step. Leaving behind untouched problems, Brook sets off for the states. Follow Brooklyn as she navigates this scary but exciting new chapter in her life. Through blisters, bruises, and heartbreak, seeds are planted and weeds are cut down. Did she leave for the right reasons? And at what cost? Twists, turns, and falls have been second nature on the ice, but can she handle it in life?

Four (possibly more to come) short stories based on nursery rhymes with a dark twist. Currently includes pieces based on Drunken Sailor, London Bridge is Falling Down, Teddy Bears' Picnic and Jack and Jill! I started this for a creative assignment at university and may come back to add more pieces to the collection in the future, but each piece stands as its own thing!

Jack and Jill Went up the hill To fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down And broke his crown And Jill came tumbling after. This nursery rhyme and many others of its like have been reiterated to most of us so many times throughout our childhood that they're now practically etched into our brains. But have you ever wondered why these rhymes are taught to children before any other lesson of their lives? What makes these tiny poems so important? Was amusing infantile brains the sole purpose of their creation? What if they were more? What if they were parables of some of the greatest men to ever walk Earth? What if they were mementos of the most vicious wars humanity fought for its survival? What if they were fables of legendary courage, wisdom, pain and sacrifice, which mankind had never wanted to forget? What if they were lengthy books, time could bury beneath dust, transformed to stanzas capable of thriving in the purity of hearts, forever? What if?

This story is kinda sucky and NOT well edited, but it might be nice if you're looking for a short read? --------------------- Also I do not own Jack and Jill or any part of their story but I do own all the other characters. I don't know how wells work either so don't be mad for how unrealistic this is.

"Jack and Jill went up the hill To fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown, And Jill came tumbling after. Then up got Jack and said to Jill, As in his arms he took her, "Brush off that dirt for you're not hurt, Let's fetch that pail of water." So Jack and Jill went up the hill To fetch the pail of water, And took it home to Mother dear, Who thanked her son and daughter." This fanfiction uses the characters of Jack and Jill, who I've designed as OCs based on this version of the nursery rhyme. It's set sometime after the events of Heartless the book, and Jack and Jill embark on a quest to try to mend the hole in Queen Catherine's chest. #1 in jackandjill -- 30Nov2020
