A retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk! Kicking rocks along the street, boots worn, and short ginger colored hair-this is the outward look of a girl with many secrets, most of which she doesn't even know. Jackie is a rough seventeen year old girl, hardened by the loss of her parents. Today is the ceremony of the Storytelling of Jack, a warrior who protected her quaint village from an aggressive giant. Every year the once poor orphaned boy is celebrated for his achievements. Jackie looks on to Jack for inspiration, and dreams to climb up the Beanstalk just like him. But she can't. Or at least, not without some help. Magic flowing to the tips of her fingers, huddled over a notebook made of flower petals, scrambling with a green pen is the giant, so far above. She sits on her cloud, sighing as she nostalgically feels something she cannot remember. It's fluid like soothing water, but passionately burning like fire at same time, a magic she can't even begin to place. The memories are so palpable, yet so far away-a still emptiness. But when a hardworking father and his beautiful daughter Victoria buy a farm right below his castle in the sky, his interest grows and he becomes somewhat joyful. Will sparks fly between these two? When Jack picked it up and brought it to his house, he never knew that it was going to change his life forever. This is a parody (fractured fairytale) of the book Jack and the Beanstalk. He was curious and dreamed of one day meeting the wondrous creatures. However, all of that changed when the war commenced. All the mysterious creatures fought against humans and all Jack had left was stolen from him. Following the human victory, most of the fantastical beasts were killed and those who still lived were in hiding. Jack lost all hope of ever seeing a siren or a harpy or even a giant. But one day, as he is in a town looking to sell his goat, he stumbles upon a merchant who sells him something bizarre in exchange for his goat. It is a deal that will change his life forever... The Giant lives all alone in his palace, not having anything but a pet goose. His life was ravaged by the War of Giants, a war which took away everything he ever had. He trusts no one besides himself. He is afraid that if he ever loves another person, that person will be taken away from him. But an unlikely visitor may turn his life upside down and change his point of view on humans, or destroy him and make him lose his life.
