Excerpt Davey wanted to be angry. He wanted to hate her. After all, he had every reason to. After what happened a year ago, he should've slammed the door in her face without a second thought. But he didn't. Because the second he saw her, everything he felt a year ago came rushing back.

It's been 5 months since Jack left. He didn't tell anyone one where he went, leaving Katherine heartbroken. When Jack finally comes back the other boys are mad at him for leaving Katherine but they also missed him. When Jack's not talking to them they start to get worried. Takes place after the strike. Combination of movie and play.

As his life begins to fall into place in ways he never thought possible, he can't help but wonder if it's his dearly departed friend guiding him in the right direction. Is there someone from beyond helping him to succeed? If so, what is the presence's plan, and what does it have to do with the mystery girl he saw at the funeral? Modern Newsies AU inspired by the song "Those You've Known" from Spring Awakening.

A Modern AU in which Jack Kelly lives with at least twenty other foster kids. Every single day is difficult for the kids as they avoid the authorities and try to stay out of trouble. Until a murder happens, and one of Jack's boys is the prime suspect. Jack, the usually optimistic dreamer, sees no way out. Until he meets this cute girl at work and suddenly things start looking up. Will Jack and his friends, new and old, be able to clear the suspect's name before it is too late or will they be separated forever? I don't own the Newsies from either the original movie or the Broadway. I don't own my title technically since it is a lyric from Santa Fe in the Broadway. I know the summary is not that great, but at least take a peek.
