Though he liked working on his inventions- or his "machines" as he called them, he also liked to watch people out on the streets from his window, being fascinated by them, and pretending as if they were apart of his life. The streets were a theater, and he was the audience. Even if it meant very personal matters (such as sexual intimacy, which he was rather ashamed of). But all of that changed one night when he witnessed a beautiful young woman walking by his workshop, only to be brutally murdered by one of his clients, yet he idly stood by and did nothing. Since that day, Pendleton lived with sorrow and guilt for not acting. One night, two nights after witnessing the gruesome murder, being so driven with guilt, he shot himself. Many of us know the rest- he ends up in hell, goes under the alias of Sir Pentious, sacrifices himself for his friends (and Cherri Bomb, of course) and gets into Heaven as a redeemed soul. But what if that never happened? What if Pendleton became so filled with guilt from his inability to act, that instead of becoming a vulnerable (yet acting villainous) snake demon in hell, he was doomed to wander his own workshop halls as a ghost? As her obsession grew she built a time machine in order to discover the ripper's true identity, but when her arrival was met without the killer she had a choice to make that could change history, the present and the future to come.

Charlotte is a 13 year-old who lives by herself in the streets of 19th century London, England. Ever since her house burned down, taking her family and belongings from her, she has had to fend for herself. Charlotte has experienced many external and internal struggles that no one should ever have to go through, and really just wants to live a better life. Things get crazy when Charlotte encounters an elusive murderer, more commonly known as Jack the Ripper, and becomes the target for his next crime. Charlotte's situation also doesn't seem to be helped by the new changes she is experiencing that threaten her sanity. Things start to look up for Charlotte when the queen's secret investigator, named Cyril Lancaster, and his butler, Francis Edwards, rescue her from the streets and take her to live with them in Cyril's home, the Lancaster Manor. Charlotte aids her new friends in finding the murderer, leading to the ultimate showdown.

The Ripper effect comes with twists and psychological turns, playing with your minds and the main character's. The spirit of Jack The Ripper still lingers, and now there is a copycat, or perhaps someone closer than you think.
