He used to believe in it all, love at first sight, one that lasted forever. Funny how one experience could ruin your whole perception of life. Jack hadn't loved himself for a long time. Hadn't since middle school when he had to fit into the classic stereotype. He thought he had overcome that with Katherine. Or was she just dragging him down? You can learn a lot from others. If you just sit and get to know them. Which is exactly what they did. But the outcome, is something neither of them expected.

Becca Kelly is Jack Kelly's little sister, and they were all they had until they became newsies. They were always with each other through thick and thin. Then the strike starts, and everything turns into a roller-coaster. Jack finds himself with feelings for a... boy??? Davey didn't deserve to be here, in Jack's opinion. All he did was defend a friend-Jack would've done the same!-but he knows how heavy the school is on discipline and bullying, which is why it's ironic that Jason isn't with them. "What are you looking at?" Jack blinked at the accusatory and annoyed look on Davey's face, shocked he'd gotten caught. "Is there something wrong?" "No", Jack denied, licking his lips habitually. "Nothing." Jack and Davey were two of the most well known kids at Hamilton High School, but on opposite sides of the popularity scale. Jack was always surrounded by people, and Davey preferred to avoid them when he could. Davey was a cheerleader, and Jack was an artist. But somehow, the logic of ending up in detention applies to everyone.

Its the basic High School AU: Davey is new to The World high school in Manhattan. He gets a crush on Jack, but Jack is currently dating Katherine. Race is in the marching band; Spot is quarterback for the rival school's, Brooklyn High, football team. The rest is just kinda there.
