Clarke, her little brother Peyton, and her mom suddenly lost her dad a year ago and now her mom is moving them in with her boyfriend and his kids Marcus Kane, Bellamy Blake, and Octavia Blake. Still grieving her dad she tries her best to ignore them. Then school starts and now 17 year old Clarke and 14 year old Peyton are going to the same school as Octavia, which is making it even harder to ignore her. Then she meets Finn Collins, Raven Reyes, Monty Green, and Jasper Jordan. As she starts becoming friends with them her friendship with Finn starts turning into something more. A nuclear war destroyed earth about a 100 years ago. The rest of the human race were sent into space in different space stations. As the years went by the stations decided to come together and call themselves the ark. Due to the limited resources people could only have one child and were given small portions of rations. Even the petty crimes were sentenced to death unless you were under eighteen. Then you'd be locked in a solitary cell. The plan was to wait a 100 years until going back to earth to check if it was survivable. However, the ark was quickly running out of air causing them to send 100 children prisoners to the ground.
