Freshly released from Southern Ohio Correctional Facility after seven years, Dean Walker (Leonardo DiCaprio) returns back to his childhood home in Summerfield, Florida only to find out that everything has changed. His mother is remarried to his once-best friend from grade school, his little sister is a major pothead, and his cat has an unhealthy addiction to stress medicine. But when Dean learns about a new family that moved next door to them, he definitely isn't expecting Carolina Milton (Candice Accola), a single mother of two whom also happens to be the reason why he ended up in prison in the first place, to be there.

Javier was an average highschool student until a mall crime causing him to be placed in jail for one year, except it wasn't his crime or his fault for being arrested the judge barley believed his story because of the main man apart of that crime caused him to get arrested, but both guys don't know each other until Javier meets Marcus a teen boy placed under the same crime except spending two years in jail. Javier and Marcus have a few differences but sometimes their is always a chance for love while locked up.
