Do you remember the few minutes during The Ersatz Elevator, when everyone thought that it would be the final showdown? That everything was going to be resolved that Very Fine Day? It wasn't the first or the last time that V.F.D. hoped for a happy ending at the end of the book (or episode). But what if it was? What if Count Olaf really was captured, and the Quagmires saved? This is a story that starts partway through The Ersatz Elevator. The first few chapters will likely all happen within a timespan of a few days, but after that the chapters will be more like short stories, spaced out over the course of the years, as each character gets their happily ever after. Note: Many of the details may be based of off the series. I am sorry for this, but I rewatched the Netflix series very recently so it is freshest in my memory. *I do not own any part of A Series of Unfortunate Events*

"The way I see it," I concluded, "when you hit rock bottom... there's nowhere to go but up!" It's 1960 and Lita Caliban, VFD's youngest flaneur and technologist, is in a tricky situation. One of her closest friends has died and along with grief, the fire that took her life has given Lita an opportunity to watch over three plucky and intelligent orphans with a story similar to her own. VFD needs a competent agent; one who can cope with danger, death and destruction. Lita's just the girl they need - but will she and her skills be enough to keep the orphans safe? There will indeed be danger and destruction... and not everyone will get out alive.

What if Olivia Caliban had decided that she could wait just one more minute to go after the sugar bowl? After all, Olaf and Esme weren't going anywhere yet. If she had stayed behind to save Jacques and jail the Count, his girlfriend, and his henchpeople, her mission would have been accomplished just as well- no better- as it would have been if she had left. Maybe fate doesn't always have to split us up. Note: many of the details of this fanfiction are drawn from the Netflix series. I am sorry if you would prefer them to be from the books, but the series is freshest in my mind (plus Olivia and Jacques are cute). The Baudelaires were your close friends for a while, but then you moved away and you guys drifted apart. They show up at the school you attend a few years later, and you quickly become friends again. Long story short, you get involved with V.F.D. and go on adventures with the Baudelaires while trying to hide the way you maybe-sorta-really like Klaus because you're afraid it will ruin your friendship with him. ~~~~~~~~~~ This starts in in The Austere Academy, and may go on for a few books/episodes after that, but probably won't be too long of a book. It might have some fluff here and there (mostly Dunclet and Jalivia fluff), but it's a semi-slow burn between you and Klaus. It's based more on the show than the books. •Not discontinued anymore!
