This poem is written in the Jamaican dialect and language called Patois, also known as Patwa. It is a follow up to my poem called 'Farrin Tings,' which describes the lust those from smaller countries have for bigger countries despite the wonderful culture they would be leaving behind. This poem is about taking accountability for being here, for the choices made. And not to look for anyone to give you what you feel is lost within you, but to create it. It is about creating your kingdom and like Christ says in the book of Revelation "I am making all things new."

A fierce reclamation of self."Di Year Mi Tek Back Mi Power is a rhythmic journey from the noise of betrayal to the sanctuary of self-worth. Written in authentic Patois, this poem serves as a manifesto for anyone who has decided to stop "begging for praise" and start "commanding respect." It is a celebration of the "99.5" excellence that comes when you cut off the weights of the past and step into your true destiny.
