He's always been driven to doing what he was told, He's never left room for mistakes or the opportunity to disappoint anyone She's spent her entire life blind from where she's truly from. She graduated business school. His band made it big. They travelled the world together. Now James and Riley have returned to Toronto to take over as studio director and head choreographer at The Next Step. A house, a fiancé and her dream job, Riley's life couldn't be better. However when her anxiety returns and sends her into a deep dark depression, James and their loved ones must give her all the love and support she needs so that she can find the strength within herself to see the sun rise once again.

A-Troupe Won Internationals at the end of Riley and James. Nothing could have been more perfect. Except everyone knew that after Internationals they were going to go separate way through college in the hope they would find their way back to each other And many of them did, they found their way back long before College ended. James and Riley were not some of those people, in fact College caused them to split and this time it didn't look like they were ever going to see each other again until one day Riley shows up at Michelle's door step..

They were both in love with Ballet and have been ever since they were little girls It's always been Riley and her mum, they've spent her entire life chasing the one dream both of them had. Riley had worked her entire school life working towards getting into Julliard, she had her shot. She got her chance at an audition but she knew she needed her mum there to be able to do it She wanted to follow it through with her by her side But when one wrong move turns Riley's world upside down.. She loses the one person in her life she can depend on, she loses the dream they shared and everything shifts when she had to move away from everything she'd ever known

"He's gone" I cried to my sister. "Oh Ri, come on let's go get some ice cream." Emily says hugging me. "Em ice cream won't fix this, he just left me." I sobbed. "Riley that was not his fault his parents moved he went with them, that was not your fault." She comforted me. "Then why does it feel like it is?" I question falling into my sisters arms.
