While working at the hospital, Claire befriends the Head of Oncology, Dr Wilson and his slightly irritable yet very intelligent best friend, Dr House. After his wife leaves him, Wilson moves in with Claire and so begins an interesting and emotional turn of events she thought would be impossible.

Gregory House has always believed everything can be broken down to a science. There is no one true religion because science sides with evolution. Love isn't the feeling everyone says it is because it's really just chemicals and hormones. In reality, were all just atoms floating through space and time that will evolve and eventually shut down and one day the whole history of the earth will be completely pointless. James Wilson is a believer. He believes in love and God and all of the little small things that make us human. His take on life is even if all of it is pointless he still had something to believe in. Something to give him hope. The thing about Wilson is that he's much different from house. Wilson is reliant on his feelings and his heart, whereas House relies on his brain and 160 milligrams of Vicodin to get him through the day. This being said, the two should want nothing to do with each other. And yet why won't House leave Wilson alone? And why does Wilson like it so much.

Disclaimer: massive spoilers for the series finale. Triggers for pretty brief suicidal thoughts. They both know it. They say it to each other in looks and tentative touches, when House is rubbing Wilson's back when he feels as if he's about to hack up his lungs. In those moments, he doesn't have enough headspace to think, "House loves me," but sometimes he doesn't have to think it. Sometimes it's just his touch on Wilson's back and a few gentle words swathed in sarcasm. He knows. They both know. And what if Wilson was a star? And what if House was the universe, and what if he loved Wilson and let the oceans of time dwindle so he could be with him; only him, forever? What if there was a utopia?
