After having arrived on the red planet Rudara, the Doctor suddenly vanishes from sight, leaving the two younger members of the TARDIS crew adrift. The boundaries of Jamie and Zoe's relationship are tested as they scramble to solve the mystery of his disappearance.

In order to protect and keep Jamie alive, the second Doctor agrees to help the Timelords by stealing and giving them an ancient artefact that can only be found during a time distortion. Finding themselves in the year 2020, Jamie and the Doctor are in for a few nasty surprises, whilst also trying to hide the fact that they are lovers.
