Tim, a tired, overworked janitor is trying for a chance in the medical apprenticeship program at the hospital he works at in a small town. An overbearing boss blocks his opportunities with the excuse "good help is hard to find" or in his case (cheap labor and a good worker). At the end of a particularly grueling day Tim meets someone who almost had as bad a day as he, and that someone was a dragon. Throughout the story Tim gets a break from the norm, and tends to and entertains ancient creatures. This book was a short story contest entry, it didn't win, but I enjoyed every bit of writing it, and currently working on making a series. I'm not sure how this will turn out, this is my first story ever. All I know, is that it will be full of suspense, action, plot twists, and drama. (About the main character) Allen is a 35 year old man that works as a high school janitor. He is 6'4, messy brown hair, stud beard, muscular but slightly chubby. He HATES his job, lives in a small crappy cheap apartment. He's underpaid and can't find a new job since it's hard for him to. He's awkward, doesn't date people because he thinks no woman would date him and he's too weird, more of a serous type. (Background of story) Allen messes around with a student, Melanie, she murders people at the school, and Allen cleans up her messes. He can't snitch on her to the police because he's literally having sex with her, he could get himself sent to prison. Allen is terrified that they might get caught together or him getting caught cleaning the murder.
