A jemily story based on episodes 15x7 and 3x2 but will probably have references to other episodes as well. Expect spoilers if you haven't seen the whole show. I got the idea from this quote from 15x7: "I know what it's like to have someone you love stuck in another world, wanting one thing, having another, but really having neither, afraid to face the truth" I simply have to believe Emily was talking about JJ there. The whole episode is about alternate universes and she definitely is wishing she was living in the one where she ends up with JJ. After JJ had been saved from Askari and Hastings, she goes through a hard time. Will doesn't recognize her anymore and even Henry discovers, that something is wrong with his mother. Although Will and the team try to help JJ, she changes incessantly. Will is desperated and in worry about his wife, but even more about his son. And one day he makes a momentous decision with unexpected consequenzes, which change everything.

I love Criminal Minds and Emily Prentiss was my favorite character on the show. I decided to portray her character as if she were in the fourth or fifth season of Criminal Minds, nothing about Ian Doyle has come up yet. I also wanted to bring out the maternal instinct for a child a little bit.

But even a white rose has a black shadow, as Kennedy has a past that's coming to catch up with her. Will she except Spencer's help and open up? Or will she push him away like everyone else?
