*Mild spoilers for The Shattered Castle* Jaron is finally at his happy ending, but he feels like there is something that he has needed to do for a long time. He, Roden, and Tobias go on a trip across Carthya to help them remember where everything started, and to never forget how they all came together in the first place. Jaron plans to celebrate the 2 year anniversary of Roden being his captain by taking him on a ledge at night. Or rather to celebrate 2 years of when Roden swore his loyalty to his king and the king of the Avenian pirates, wherever he went. <3 This is a 2 year anniversary fic and hence the title.

In the year following our wedding, Imogen and I found ourselves at odds, our love tested by the weight of crowns and choices. Her brilliance shone in decisions like reorganizing Drylliad's grain stores or planning a festival to lift spirits, but others-like a risky trade deal or reducing border patrols-faltered, leaving me to mend the fallout. A few months after Jaron's break up with Imogen at the end of TSC, her childhood friend, Wade visits to invite him and his friends to their wedding. Though the news wasn't surprising as Jaron began to think of the time he first met Wade before tck. Jaron had invited Wade to come to the castle and Wade had got along well with his friends though Jaron could somehow tell that Wade wasn't perhaps just Imogen's childhood friend. Maybe he loved Imogen too. But did Imogen love Wade too? What if she did love him without realizing it. Jaron decided to test it by pushing them closer in different situations.

Jaron is caught up in meetings all day, and hasn't seen his new wife in hours. Just a Jarogen one-shot because they're too cute.

Jaron doesn't like celebrating his birthdays and usually gets sad near it as he still misses his parents but his friends plan to make him smile and give a birthday surprise.
