Eight kids run away to New York to pursue their dreams. Amid unstable living and work conditions, Jack Kelly falls head over heels for miss Katherine Plumber. But he just can't put his feelings into words. Katherine is trying to pursue her dreams, but it proves more difficult than she imagines. Can they overcome their trials, and make a life in the big city?

A Modern AU in which Jack Kelly lives with at least twenty other foster kids. Every single day is difficult for the kids as they avoid the authorities and try to stay out of trouble. Until a murder happens, and one of Jack's boys is the prime suspect. Jack, the usually optimistic dreamer, sees no way out. Until he meets this cute girl at work and suddenly things start looking up. Will Jack and his friends, new and old, be able to clear the suspect's name before it is too late or will they be separated forever? I don't own the Newsies from either the original movie or the Broadway. I don't own my title technically since it is a lyric from Santa Fe in the Broadway. I know the summary is not that great, but at least take a peek.

Jack decides that with all the newsies have been through the past year, he should do something for them. But with only a nickel to his name and with the ragtag group he calls friends, it's going to take a little holiday magic to bring Christmas to the boys. This story may turn into a collection of Newsies one-shots, I'm not sure yet, but we'll see.
