A Modern AU in which Jack Kelly lives with at least twenty other foster kids. Every single day is difficult for the kids as they avoid the authorities and try to stay out of trouble. Until a murder happens, and one of Jack's boys is the prime suspect. Jack, the usually optimistic dreamer, sees no way out. Until he meets this cute girl at work and suddenly things start looking up. Will Jack and his friends, new and old, be able to clear the suspect's name before it is too late or will they be separated forever? I don't own the Newsies from either the original movie or the Broadway. I don't own my title technically since it is a lyric from Santa Fe in the Broadway. I know the summary is not that great, but at least take a peek.

Jack Kelly is doing the best can to be the best father to his son, Romeo. The past five years have been more than a little hard on him - he's working every chance he can, he's behind on pretty much every bill, and he's so damn exhausted. But it's for Romeo, so he just keeps pushing through, even if he knows his breaking point is coming up fast. Enter one Katherine Plumber, a reporter who is investigating something Jack would much rather she leave alone. But Katherine's got her own demons to face and she's got her own reasons for what she's doing. Jack Kelly just wants to do the best for his son. Katherine Plumber has bigger plans.

So apparently you can only have 200 chapters in a single book, so, here are some my favorite one-shots throughout the fandom part 2.

Just a few of my own little random Newsies oneshots, might possibly make them into longer stories if anyone is actually interested. This is also probably mostly about Jack and Katherine but I will try to include some of the other characters as well.

The year is 2005, the month is September, and the newsboys are poor. Poor David Jacobs joins them, only to be chucked right into the drama when the price of the papes is raised. Meanwhile there's all sorts of drama within the group of newsies, and so is there at the newspaper The Sun. There's a lot happening in 2005's Lower Manhattan...

Winter. A time of year the newsboys of New York City wish they skip over. It got cold- real cold. Newsies all over would start showing signs of sickness within the first weeks of winter. Not as many people are out on the streets, which means not as many people are there to buy papes. Money gets scarce and it's not like any of them can afford a winter coat. Wintertime is chaotic enough as it is, but when you're a newsboy trying to juggle a forbidden relationship, the death of many friends, and the return of a psychotic family member? Yeah, things can get a little... destructive. Story length: 27,730 ------------------------------ THERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE MOVIE VS MUSICAL AT THE VERY END WHERE I JUST DISSECT THE MOVIE AND WHATNOT. IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO ME WHETHER OR NOT YOU READ IT, I JUST WANTED TO PUT IT OUT THERE. DISCLAIMERS: - These characters are not mine, they all belong to Disney (excluding a couple little side characters here and there) - The word 'queer' is used frequently towards the end. While I am fully aware that it is not always used as a slur, I just couldn't bring myself to have one of the boys say the 'f' word. (You know the one) - This is going to be a mix of the 1992 Newsies and the Broadway Newsies, so I apologize in advance if you get a little confused. I just can't decide which is better, but for some characters I can only see them as the 1992 version or the broadway version. - Main difference: The relationship is going to be Jack and Katherine, meaning that neither Sarah nor Denton exist. Sorry about that, but since they aren't the main focus of this story anyways, hopefully you won't change your mind about reading this purely on that. - I made the cover using pictures off of the internet so credit to Google Images

I do not own any characters from either Wonder Woman or Newsies. All I own is the OCs and the plot that I have created. I also do not own the New York World and the other pictures on the cover art. Those all belong to their respective owners. The cover art was crafted by me and I think it is my best one yet!! I am going to put a PG/PG-13 warning for violence and maybe some harder topics to deal with. This is a story that takes place in World War I, so not everything is going to be super happy in this story all the time. This is the story of a supernaturally strong woman, a spy who doubles as a reporter, a war pilot who is also a spy, a young man who is just beginning his spy days, and a band of brothers who fight off the gruesomeness of the war. Romance ensues, battles are fought and the mystery to find the villain behind the war drives the characters toward their various missions. A woman who comes from an island with many like her is what spins everything into motion. From the streets of New York to the battle fields of Europe, this group struggles to overcome their differences and tries to win the war as a team. Will they do it?
