Rose Carraway. The embodiment of a beautifully tainted rose, a blossoming flower, sprouting from the depths of sharp thorns, blooming towards the happy glowing sun. She was the balance in the Carraway family, the mess it had become, Nicks forced engagement, her mothers alcoholism, her fathers workaholic tendencies. Forcing the siblings hand to run, the engagement spooking Nick, and like the loyal sister she was, Rose left with Nick to New York, Long Island, and meets up accidentally with her past. Just before Gatsby was shipped of to war, he'd met the pure beauty that was Rose Carraway, and no longer was his mind set for Daisy, it was Daisy's cousin instead. Rose Carraway completely took over Jay Gatsby's mind, the daring Daisy Faye, 5 years newly Buchanan now gone from any object of Gatsby's affection. But as the well known tale went in the original Gatsby, the two were split, and Rose Carraway felt an extreme loss, clamming herself up, never allowing herself to love again. Withering in the depths of her own garden, wilting away with every sob and gasp, drying herself up. Until her sun walked in - her brother, Nick Carraway, lifted her up and nursed her to health. But this time, Rose Carraway expresses promise, new beginnings, and hope. Her strongly built thorns defending her heart, building her strength, never letting a man handle her gruesomely. But unfortunately it made her cynical, the loss of love, the lack of parents. She became a little thoughtless, riddled with the inability to hold care for anyone but her brother. Will Jay Gatsby bring back the life he took from Rose Carraway? Or will Rose's stubbornness push him away?

It's a story you've heard before. Late into a humid summer, Audie Carraway returns to Buchanan. She has one outfit in her suitcase: a funeral dress. Two months prior, her cousins Nick and Daisy come to Buchanan as they do every summer. But for the first time, they are watching their family fall apart, they are haunted, and they are increasingly alone. History, if nothing else, repeats, and this is a story that has already been told.

Jay Gatsby is supposed to be dead. So is Nick Carraway. After months of loneliness and grief, Nick and Gatsby wake up in West Egg - again, and again, and again.

Listen, we all know Nick and Gatsby are seen by a lot of people (including yours truly) as very homosexual. And anyone that knows me knows that I struggle with bringing myself to write predominantly sad stories. So for now you, dear reader(s?), and I can pretend that Daisy was a little better at driving, Gatsby came to terms with Daisy being out of reach (and with his own sexuality), and instead of us interpreting Nick and Jay as gay for each other, they are very, very explicitly gay for each other as they find when they spend more time together and away from the deceit of people they once thought of more kindly.

How Gatsby should've ended.

(Y/n) was the Greek goddess of women, wine, revenge, lust, and love((made up goddess)) was in her human form at one of gatsby's many parties and somehow caught the eye of Gatsby himself. What will happen between them? Will she make him immortal or will she have to lose him in the end?

Set two months after A Night Out, where Gatsby and Nick are an actual couple. They face discrimination and hardship, will their love last? Or will someone put a stop to it?

Gatsby struggles with an addiction and Nick tries to help him get better. All characters belong to Fitzgerald. This is in Nick and Gatsby's POVs, it will state which at the beginning of the chapter.

I wrote this awhile ago before I had read or watched The Great Gatsby, I looked at a piece of text from it and this was my interpretation of it.

Nick Carraway could never imagine how much a simple move would change his life. He could never, not in a million years, predict the earth-shattering smile of Jay Gatsby.
