[WRITTEN IN 2022] An alternate timeline set during the pilots in which Wu and his students visit the lonely village of Ignacia in hopes of recruiting their fourth member. Upon failing, they will have to extend their stay, much to the Jay's dismay. But after an unexpected meeting with a peculiar girl, he'll realise that it may not be that bad, after all. Nya thought the hardest part was seeing Jay again. She was wrong. Jay is leaning on her in the dark, taking some of the weight off of his own shoulders. She doesn't mind; it means she can feel his heartbeat next to hers. It makes everything feel right again. He's the only one who never lets her down, no matter how hard she tries. Her eyes are closed, and she can hear him breathing. It sounds steady, even, like someone who isn't struggling with a million different emotions at once. Like someone she trusts more than anyone else. "I love you," she whispers, because she can't help herself. Because she's been trying to say it since the moment they met, and he still hasn't heard her. "So much." The words hang between them, unspoken, until finally Jay says, "And I love you." He closes his eyes tightly and exhales, and she knows it's going to be okay. It's not Jay's day when he gets into a car crash, ends up lost, and getting hurt. Can the ninja find their friend before an old enemy does.

It hadn't even been a day and Jay was a blubbering mess. Everything reminded him of her. It felt as if fate was taunting him, twisting his arm mumbling "It should have been you." in his ear every time he saw a picture of her. Why, out of everyone... did it have to be his wife? Even though the team was grieving alongside him, Jay felt completely alone. He had never felt so isolated from his teammates before. Possibly because they weren't sure how to help him, or maybe because they were too busy with their own problems to care. Jay didn't know. All he did know, however, was that somehow he'd have to live the rest of his life without his yang, Nya.

The Elemental Masters and the ninja never thought they'd hear about a tournament again. However, it wasn't just heard. It was re-done. The elements receive a letter from an odd place that wishes to include them within the tournament. Can the Tengu really be trusted? Or will there be a secret yet to be found? But the true plot behind this strange tournament were yet to be revealed.
