The thing sat opposite me broke the silence, his mask was off. I could see his face. And I could hear his voice more clear too. I preferred when he had his mask off... everything felt more normal. Even though he wasn't. With mischief in his eyes and the ghost of a teasing smirk he slowly slid a tall glass of prosecco my way. The bubbles fizzing to the top as a edible hibiscus flower sat at the bottom of the glass. I lifted my head letting my arm rest and land on my lap. God... he knew me too well. The edge of my lips curled upwards as I looked at him, my fingers curling around the glass. In the short time he knew me, he knew me dangerously well. I originally came out for a drink. But after... what happened the once lively bar was left a wreck. Glasses smashed, clothes and bags left, lights broken and flickering. The place abandoned besides from us. But it was oddly nice. Just us. "Until next time," I teased, keeping my eyes connected to his as I raised my glass before I connected my lips to the glass and downed the drink and ate the flower with it.
