Don't be a stranger --- The Sawyers were one of the oldest families in all of Capeside. They were a family of tradition and had had at least one family member working in the mayor's office for as long as anyone could remember. Lauren's father, Charles Sawyer, had been mayor for two terms, and, subsequently, they were a pretty well-off family, especially compared to the other families in Capeside. Therefore, unlike her friends, Lauren hadn't had to take a part-time job to save up for college, she didn't feel the same financial strain that her peers would sometimes feel. She was priveleged, lucky. And, therefore, she was a little different to everyone else in town, and most people resented her for that. Not her friends Pacey, Joey, and Dawson though. They loved her despite her difference in social class. They had been friends for many years, the four of them their own little group with unbreakable, reliable friendships. That all changed, however, once they got to high school.
