In regency era England, Wooyoung is mistaken as a "lady of the night," and accosted by an English nobleman. Wooyoung is able to fight off his advances and ends up knocking him out, but in the process she loses her coin purse and her footman runs off. Now Wooyoung has no choice but to "borrow" some coin from the unconscious brute who attacked her to get a ride home. She tells no one about the incident, as she was not supposed to be out unaccompanied. Several weeks later, at a seasonal ball, she sees none other than the brute who attacked her. Only now, she realizes he is not riff-raff, but Jeong Yunho, one of the wealthiest men of the town, and he's interested in Wooyoung's hand in marriage! How does Wooyoung explain her aversion to the advances of the most eligible bachelor in town without giving away what happened? However, as much as Wooyoung would like to avoid Yunho, the nobleman is persistent and as they are forced to spend more time with each other, Wooyoung finds that Yunho is actually very charming and smart and witty and she finds herself falling for him despite their terrible first meeting.
