Gabriel Reyes was many things. A soldier. A founding member of Overwatch. A friend. A comrade. But one title he never thought he'd have was "Father". This is the story of how Gabriel Reyes became a Father out of the blue to a young Jesse McCree. This is also the story of his downfall. Please note that this story goes with the Overwatch canon timeline as best as possible. The ages are all accurate to the point of the story they are in. In this you will see Overwatch rise and fall. Blackwatch. The Deadlock Gang. And most importantly, Team Talon. Updates will not be regular and for that I apologize. This is cross posted on my AO3 account as well which will be updated sooner than here. Please also note that this was written before Echo and her lore was announced so Liao is written as my own headcanon before she was announced.

The Reader (You) has a spirit beast, and it is a wolf. Your tattoo that shows the bond is on your back and covers the top half of your back. Your spirit beast can become corporeal. It is a male and its name is Kuzo. (Yes, the name is inspired by the name Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove. I just took out the "C" to make the name flow better.) You are an only child to your parents, and they are the leaders of your village. Your weapons of choice are a bow and arrow and a dagger. This story takes place during the Overwatch Recall. The first day at a new job is never easy. It especially isn't easy when its a Friday night, and the restaurant is fully booked. In fact, its wholly overwhelming. Which is why Hanzo Shimada, usually organized and cool, is stood softly banging his head on the side of one of the wine fridges in frustration. He wanted to do well tonight, he really did.

It is too complex of a thing to just be forgotten, but that's all the Shimada wants to do. He has standards to uphold and one of them is not being in love with another man. His lover - or almost lover - doesn't feel quite the same. He has never judged love by what the person has in their pants, instead, he judges for how the act, instead. The cowboy has done this since he started having relationships, and is quite used to finding a man attractive. When he falls in love with the Shimada, he doesn't care that he is a man, he just cares about who he is. Who he will be. Who he was. How long will it take until the suppressed feelings crush the two?

Jesse was having a really bad day. He just wanted you to come home safe from your mission. However, something more urgent had come up, and he doesn't want anyone to know his deepest embarrassment. Not even you.

Young Jesse Mccree meets a quiet boy who seemingly leaves as he came. And for years he couldn't forget the face of the other man.

ok so the mchanzone tumblr is doing a mchanzo week with different themes each day. I am really late but I decided to write short stories for mchanzo week. both here and tumblr (Art from cover by mangainrainbow)

It's Christmas Eve, and Jesse McCree is alone again. While drinking his sorrows away at a bar on the U.S./Mexican border, he meets a mysterious young Latina woman, who calls herself Sombra. The unlikely pair then strike up a conversation about Christmas, lost love, and loneliness. This short story/one-shot is based on the Overwatch comic strip panel, which shows Jesse McCree and Sombra sitting in the same bar on Christmas on the Mexican-American border. It is an attempt to answer the question of what happened at the bar. Did the pair meet, and if so what did they talk about? What did they do their, and what happened next? All characters except the bartender belong to Blizzard/Overwatch, and all the writing is my own original work/headcanon. Best Rankings: #4 in vaquero #10 in oliviacolomar

The only problem is that Jesse is bad at going undercover internationally, and he's positive he can't pull this off. But after receiving some horrific news and passive-agressive threats, he accepts. The challenging part of this operation is getting Hanzo to trust him enough - and that's where things take a turn for the worst.
