Joanna drank from the spring, making her immortal. The thing is she drank it in the 1750s, on her 18th birthday. She lived through everything, she's met Alexander Hamilton, Jesse Tuck, and eventually ends up with the Newsies. She's seen it all.

Jesse used to love the ocean, but after so many bad encounters with it, he's grown to resent it.

Ellie, a teenage girl, is obsessed with musicals. Like crazy obsessed. Along with her best friend, Sami, she writes on a musical fanfiction blog and daydreams about actually being with her favorite characters. When Ellie falls down the stairs while writing and lands seemingly unharmed, she is thankful, even though her phone, where she was writing her latest chapters, has shattered and become totally useless. She just thinks of this as ordinary, but then she meets the first one...
