Throughout the years, things have been chaotic, but it's grown back into a steady rhythm of peace. All is well, all is normal... until it isn't. Old threats, stronger now than before, come back with a vengeance, a taste for blood. Lukas, with all his doubts that he truly fits with Jesse and his friends, must face a past him and his friends tried to put behind them. He'll be forced to determine the answer to his questions far before he is ready. Is he as useless as he thinks? Or does he truly deserve the spot he holds in the ranks with the rest of his friends? Out with the old, in with the new. That was how the saying always went. He knew it all to well, which is why he needed to prove that the old could redeem itself, even if all hope is lost. He needed to, for Lukas's sake. For all of their sake. They needed him, and he couldn't let them down. Hi everyone! This is my first attempt at writing a fic so I hope yall enjoy! :D This is a Jesskas centred fic that spans over episodes 2-4 of Minecraft story mode season one. Although there may be flashbacks/references to episode one of mcsm. Having in-depth knowledge of mcsm season 1 (ep 1-4) isn't necessary for reading, but knowing the basics of the original story may help/boost enjoyment. Chapter 1 of this fic takes place near the end of episode 2 as our band of heroes, consisting of: Jesse, Lukas, Petra, Olivia, Axel, Rueben, Magnus & Ellagard, spend the night in an empty plains biome as they struggle to find the location of another member of the order of the stone, Soren. Ch 1 was written with the intention of this fic being a Jesskas centred one-shot, meaning it focuses mainly on those two. I will try my best to focus equally on each character in future chapters, but I do love me some gay angst.

What if things were different? Petra's Wither sickness is cured, the world is at peace, people can return to normal life, but at what cost? Jesse obviously can't mention this, people look up to him, telling them would cause panic. Jesse braves his sickness whilst trying to navigate his new life with Lukas and his friends, trying to help other people adjust and rebuild. Lukas knows something is up, but will he figure it out?
