Brandon Jacob didn't need anything or anyone. He was almost 17, which was, in his opinion, far too old to get adopted. No family was really going to want him, anyway. No one wanted the messed up kid from juvi. But when he somehow stumbles into the Adams-Foster household, his opinions on want, need, or otherwise get turned upside down.
