Ella's life changed when her dad died in a car accident. Her mother was unable to work a full time job because she was diagnosed with breast cancer and instead worked part time at the library. Ella, despite her mother's protests, was forced to quit college and move back home so she could take care of her family and find a job. Ella got a job as an account manager in the customer service department at the Scranton Branch of Dunder Mifflen.
