He was never one to show much emotion if it benefited the other party solely, but somehow, his well-behaving little cousin stood here and saw right through him without even as much as a glance in his direction. Her small fingers danced across piano keys, starting off in simple reprise, but soon stopping, stilled as they sat in silence. She was the first to move, Ego being the ever-so observant one, watching as her face turned into view. Her eyes were wide in a certain childlike naivety, but her expression was neutral. However, that isn't what stood out to him. "Father says liars are bad people," She started, a translucent, animated black flame fanning around the very edge of her irises. "I think it's far worse to shield yourself with the truth, Ego."
