This aims to be an original story based on Percy Jackson, I tried to focus on the things that I didn't like about the Percy Jackson series and aimed to make a story for myself that addresses that. The main difference is with society and their relationship with the Gods. I never liked Greek Gods, so I made up a fictional religion that is what the book is based on. Instead of focusing on mythological stories and heroes, I focused on community, animism, immanence and the connection the land. I tried to make my character be a lot more self-sufficient than Percy who always needs help from Gods, but at the same time my character has a strong sense of culture and community. Oh, and his name is Jack... https://thoughtsofjuan.me/tlb

From sparring on the Jiu Jitsu mat to diving into otaku communities like the Reki-jo, the best learning happens when curiosity, passion, and community come together. This reflection explores how these participatory spaces show us what the future of education could really look like.

They've trained for life, but not for love. Anya Morozova and Theodore Romanov have known strength since they were three-wrestling and jiu-jitsu shaping not only their bodies but their hearts. Yet no amount of training could prepare them for the vulnerability of falling for someone who sees every part of you-the confident, the guarded, and the fragile. In a world where every touch can feel like a match and every glance can unravel carefully held defenses, they must learn that the greatest victories aren't on the mat... but in letting someone in. "Grappling Hearts" is a slow-burn romance about trust, resilience, and the quiet courage it takes to open your heart-even when it feels like you might get pinned.
