Jennifer Jareau works as a profiler in the BAU, and they are working to stop an international criminal, but secretly needing someone to love her. Emily Prentiss (Lauren Reynolds) travels the world, causing chaos and wrecking havoc, then leaving without a trace, but secretly internally broken. Or, Emily is a hot criminal and JJ tries to arrest her but maybe falls in love (and the feeling may be mutual). And yes I know Elle leaves but I didn't want her to so she's a part of the team.

jj meets someone while undercover on a case and she feels herself developing a crush on them where does she go from there *will and jj never aren't married in this so no will or kids and Emily doesn't work at the BAU*

When they are called to New Orleans to assist with a series of hate crimes, JJ has to face the detective who will never stop hitting on her. In an effort to deflect him, she had to pretend to love someone else, and that person was Emily. The BAU is where Emily Prentiss and JJ met. When Emily joined the team she struggled to make bonds with any of the team and chose to latch onto JJ as she had shown her kindness. JJ simply welcomes Emily to the team. Both are unaware of the other's views on their bond. Their different lives offer different perspectives on what they view their relationship as and what they mean to each other. Their thoughts and feelings overlap at times and they often seem like they're chasing their tails rather than seeing eye to eye on what they are together. Each chapter switches points of view between the two, showing a new light on the same storyline each time.
