Twenty years after the Cordyceps outbreak, human kind is still struggling to breath. The military has stomped out democracy in the name of the greater good, when really it's just fear. I mean, we're all scared but... the things they do... In an effort to combat this darkness, the Fireflies were created. Marlene's group of ragtag rebels that really believe they can make a difference. I don't know, I just... I want her back... Anna, my best friend. All I have left of her is her fiery daughter Ellie. Ellie, who wasn't even born when the Cordyceps outbreak first occurred. She didn't know when it started. Maybe it was driving to Pittsburgh, or when he fell down the elevator shaft. Maybe when he gave her the gun? She couldn't place the exact moment it happened but somewhere along the line Joel became more than just some guy escorting her across the country. The Last of Us S1E8 - What if Ellie hadn't been able to kill David until after he assaulted her? What if their only choice was to rely on the people that had already hurt them so much? Or, Ellie ends up pregnant because of David, and Joel thinks he will lose his mind. I haven't seen one of these yet, and of course I had to go there. To sum things up, short & to the point: This story takes place after Joel lies to Ellie. Their relationship grows from there, whether it's good or bad, Tommy and Maria eventually introduce someone new, and a major death happens towards the end of this FanFiction.
