Joel is determined to get Ellie to see his point of view. In his eyes, he did the right thing. And while he also knows that Jackson promises a sanctuary and a moment of respite, he can't help but feel that their time together is limited. More than anything, he wants to be there for her, even if that means the countless hours it'll take teaching her how to swim.

The Last of Us S1E8 - What if Ellie hadn't been able to kill David until after he assaulted her? What if their only choice was to rely on the people that had already hurt them so much?
