The world might have ended for everyone else in 2003, but Lina's world ends when her goddaughter is kidnapped and taken out west. Now she must agree to help the Fireflies as one of the most likely to be able to help create a cure and travel across no man's land with Joel, a man who's equally irritating as he is enticing, and Ellie, who's actually a really good kid. Or, where no matter as hard as two stubborn idiots try to not like each other or adopt a child together, it happens anyway.

Okay, so I had this random idea. I started watching Jethro and Joel's YouTube series; Fish Outta Water, and I decided to make it into a reader insert. So, basically, the reader is dating both Jethro and Joel and they invite her to join Fish Outta Water.

There are no treatments for this. No preventatives, no cures. They don't exist. It's not even possible to make them. So if that happens? We lose.

Its the summer of 98 in Austin Texas youre 17 and youve just moved into a house not far from your moms friend from high school. Youre the eldest and the only girl. You have two younger brothers. The day of your arrival you go to visit your moms friend and her family. There you meet the miller family. Another single mother and her two boys Joel and Tommy.

She quickly becomes close with Ellie, but is wary of Joel. Throughout the story the two (Joel and the OC) have similar experiences and have a similar past. Something happens, something sparks in their relationship...

Alina was so, so tired. The bullet graze on her thigh was dripping a sickly red onto the milky white snow, staining it permanently. She needed to hurry, to move faster for Christ's sake. The makeshift tourniquet she had fashioned seemed to do nothing by the way she was bleeding.It was digging painfully into her upper thigh and hip, but she never stopped moving. She fell into the cold, icy sheet of snow, nearly up to her knee. She grunted, pushing herself back up, only to fall again. Alina lied there, lip quivering- but not from the cold. She whispered something, so small, you almost wouldn't be able to hear it. "Fucking apocalypse."

This is just a little preview, not sure if I'll ever go anywhere with it, but I figured I'd publish the first chapter, it is subject to change. Feel free to leave criticisms and such, I'd appreciate any feedback on how to improve my writing if I do end up continuing it. (Y/N) was a friend of Tommy and Joel's before the downfall of humanity. She looked after Sarah, bought their food, maintained the cleanliness of the house - heck, it was like she was a part of the family. Her relationship with the man was questionable, however. In all honesty, you could say they hated each other. His short temper doesn't work well with her stubborn and tough persona. But they could never get enough of each other. They could never get each other out of their minds. Will this new world pull them together or finally rip them apart? Who knows.

Joel and Y/n find a baby on patrol. Can Joel overcome his fears and grief from his daughter Sarah to raise another child?

You work out Joel's dirty little secret and decide he deserves some damn payback. Song fic bc I've been obsessed with this recently. I love Joel to death and I'm positive he's harmless irl but I also just feel this situation isn't too implausible.
