When Hannah Ellis is sent to do Saturday detention, she thinks of it as the worst thing ever. Stuck in the library for eight hours with five other detainees, she dreads having to be around them. But she starts to realise that a brain, an athlete, a princess, a basket case and especially a criminal will change this book girl's day in detention into a life changing one.

Six students meet at Saturday detention. The jock, the princess, the brain, the basket case, the criminal and the rogue. Catrina Alvarez has been to ten different foster homes and ten schools in the last nine years. As a result, she is unknown by most and in turn knows nobody. Though she doesn't realize it, one of the few people who have noticed her in her first few days is a certain criminal.

The Blood twins weren't well know at there high school and those who did know them knew them as the social outcasts. They only had each other, taking care of themselves, each other and their younger siblings. Though they decide to open themselves up through a long Saturday detention. Things never really turn out how they're supposed to, do they? Brooke figures that out the moment she steps into detention Saturday morning. She's not supposed to like these people, she's not supposed to be friends with them. They're all from totally different social spectrums. They didn't mix, and yet, as the day drags on, she can't help but enjoy their company. Juliet Standish was the token tortured artist of Shermer High, while Juliet is the twin sister of Clair Standish the two aren't at all the same. Amelia usually kept to herself, that was until she got Saturday detention for her 'anger issues' and unsportsmanlike attitude. This isn't her first time in detention but this time two very different guys catch her attention. Will this detention be her last? Or will Vernon see her again next week?
