Dear Mr. Vernon, I was dreading today. I am here today simply because I made a mistake, we all did. But you refused to see that. I was never expecting today to be any good. Waking up at 6am on Saturday to go to detention for 8 hours doesn't exactly scream "fun". My dad and I chatted as he walked me to school, he told his best detention stories from his time at Shermer High. Turns out John Bender was quite the trouble maker in high school. He hugged me goodbye and I crossed the street to start my wasted Saturday. I had never expected today to be any good. In the library I was joined by Brian Jr. Johnson, Aaron Clark and the dreaded Scarlet Standish. Spending the day with a couple of strangers and a terribly unpleasant popular air-head didn't exactly scream "fun". Having to write an essay for you, my power corrupt principal, didn't exactly scream "fun". But the dreaded 8 hours in hell was fun. Even though I had never expected today to be any good, it was.
