Kylo gave a final hiss and struck Rey against the wall. She was left there, panting and sobbing on the ground, trapped with a monster. *** Luke knows Kylo Ren can be converted to the light, and he sets Rey the mission to change him. Only then will he train her in the ways of the force. Rey believes this task is almost impossible. Kylo has become aggressive and violent; darker than ever before as a result of murdering his father. Rey is also struggling with depression from Han Solo's death. They battle each other with their own truths and come out as different people.

For that reason the prose is simple but it's easy to digest. And note that I began writing the bulk of this long before Season 2 of the Mandalorian. Minor things have been since changed to keep with continuity but larger plot points that are difficult to alter that clash with continuity may remain.
