"John." I watched helplessly as the detective glanced over to me, a crooked smile gracing his features. "Yes?" My heart pounded violently against my chest as I found the floor fascinating. "I'm scared..." My voice trailed off, before cringing at my own words. I was never good at expressing what I felt to others, it just felt wrong. "Hey, look at me." He stood up from his desk, and lifted my chin, eyes flickering across my face, causing me to blush. "I'm sorry." "Victoria, you don't have to be a shamed of being scared." His warm breath lightly fanned across my face, sending a chill down my spine, "But you don't have to worry. I will always be here to protect you." He pressed a kiss to my forehead, gently caressing my cheek with his thumb. "Always." __________ There aren't enough John Kennex Fanfics, so I decided I should give it a try. I do not own anyone besides victoria and her backstory, and maybe a few other added characters.
