Betrayed by Shepherd, Soap and Ghost have gone to ground to evade the hunting Shadow Company. Trapped together in a single, squalid hotel room, with MacTavish fading, Ghost will do whatever needs to be done to get them both out alive.

Ghost found himself in the crossfire while in conflict during a mission. Soap finds him and desperately tries to help, not ever imagining having gone on a mission with two people and only coming back with one person alive. Throughout the time Soap is tending to Ghost, Ghost's mind wanders on about what the future could having held. •--•--• (Also posted this on my Ao3) I really don't regret anything. If you're wondering why Soap's "yous" switch between "ya" and "you," it's because I feel like he's more of a "ya" guy, but there's some situations/phrases where "ya" doesn't cut it and you have to use "you," y'know? Ghost doesn't know how he could ever trust someone again until this very day. Joining the 141 changed a lot of things but the first time he sees John „soap" Mactavish he knows that his whole life would get turned upside down. Each moment spent with the Scot would deliver him another reason to believe he could never turn back to his old life. He doesn't want to. These are his most special and treasured moments of the following year. But ghost can feel that something was not as it seems to be.
