Now things would become chaotic during the events of the war between Lantern Corps. But Blake had a developed relationship with Laira, a former Red Lantern who later saved by one of Blake's Torquoise Lantern Rings and she became the new Torquoise Lantern.

He doesn't know how long he'll be gone or how he can prevent himself from spoiling everyone's future fates but he never excepted himself to be the Hero that has the chance to save his dead friends and fellow heroes. Maybe he likes staying here in the past. But Neo-Gotham needs. His friends and family need him. And he can't jeopardize the future for his understandable selfishness.
