A young woman moves to Hope County, Montana with her parents. After they insist that she finds a suitable church in the hopes to find her salvation, she stumbles upon the Project at Edens Gate. She is as enticed by the preacher as he is with her. Joseph knew that God had brought her to him for a reason, she was both his gift and his obligation. He would show her the path to Edens Gate at any cost. Will he show her the path to Salvation or will he just lead her straight into the flames? He resided in Atlanta, fresh out of a prestige East Coast university with the inheritance of his recently deceased adoptive parents weighing heavy in his pocket. (YOU are the amateur lawyer, Evelyn Maine. When John Duncan offers you an internship, you get to witness first hand the expensive parties and tailored suits of John's past sinful life. When you end up in Montana some years later, with the man far from your mind, you're introduced to the new persona of the lawyer you once knew. Dahlia Hale is the youngest person working at the Hope County Sheriff's Department. Hailing from a small town in Louisiana, it's going to take her some time to fully acclimate to the new environment and living on her own. Developing friendships takes time even for the most functional of people and for disasters like Dahlia it takes even longer. She gets along with her coworkers and there's some religious family who's taken a shine to her, for some reason. It seems like she's on her way to getting the kind of friends she's only ever dreamed about, even if it's going to take some more time. Then everything goes to shit. Halfway through her six-month probationary hire and that nice religious family has kicked off a holy war with her becoming enemy number one. To one side she's a hero. To the other she's a monster. She's not sure which is right.
