After all, his only goal in life was to become President of the United States and the first step to getting there was being elected student body president of his puny public high school that he didn't even want to be at. Everything after that would be a breeze. His next five years were planned out and everything would go according to those plans as long as nobody fucked it up for him. Josh Dun was only in high school to graduate, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to try and have fun while he was there. From skateboarding in the halls to vandalizing teacher bathrooms to receiving (and giving) head in the various janitor's closets. And the one thing he thought was the most fun? Set in 2007, in the neighborhood of Clancy Way, the story explores the rivalry between the Downbeats and the Clique, two teenage street gangs of different family backgrounds. Both gangs vie for dominance of the neighborhood, and the police try to keep order. Joshua Dun, a former Downbeat and older brother of the gang's leader, Jordan Dun, falls in love with Tyler Joseph, the brother of Zack Joseph, the leader of the Clique. (The original idea was doing an Clancybearer lore accurate fic, but it's hard for me to investigate ALL of the lore and also fixing the holes in it. The only things considered canon can be the events before heavydirtysoul, the other elements are mostly headcanons, and well , fan-fiction lol. So be aware of the fact that 40% is canon and the other 60% is headcanon. Also, this fic takes its idea from the "Tyclancy Isn't Clancy" theory, where explains how the Clancy from the notes isn't the clancy we follow on jumpsuit, paladin strait,city walls,etc (that one is called Tyclancy for better explanation) and that can be the reason of Scaled and Icy being an anagram for Clancy is dead, because the Clancy from the notes committed after leaving the city. After having a fallout with his so called "friends", Josh starts hiding away in his bedroom. His parents, of course, are concerned, but in not wishing to invade his private life, they get him a dog. Tyler ends up helping Josh over come the plague of loneliness and slight depression, and even helps him find a new friend along the way. Yes, Tyler is a dog. No, this is not a Joshler fic. This is nothing other than an alternative universe story wherein a boy much like Josh Dun owns a dog named Tyler.

Sequel to No Matter What Josh is back and having more adventures than before, but this time, he's getting high off the thrill of friendship with another Tyler by his side.
